Night of Neon

This post will be out of order.. I should have posted it before the R&J one, but that's o.k.
My students had a big, 9th grade exclusive, formal dance last weekend!! My MT and I stopped in to see all of them in their pretty (littleeeee) dresses and tuxedos. We didn't recognize many of the girls without their sweatpants and hair pulled back in a hasty ponytail. Everyone looked so mature!
My MT has always told me that it is insane to see how much money parents throw at their kids in this town. The dance was a huge testament to that! Dresses were FANCY, hair was done professionally, acrylic nails were common. Lots of white tuxedos.. and plenty of BRIGHTLY colored dresses..
Because this was a NIGHT OF NEON!! I wish my pictures were better, but you get a little taste. The tables had black light sticks that held down neon colored balloons and lit up neon colored punch cups. The DJ was bumpin rap songs that I am only too sure brought on some promiscuous dancing before the night was done. This was my high school prom times 10 (at least!). It was fun to see =)
